ClankerBlocker

How to audit fake followers and bots on X (Twitter)

Answer: Connect X, scan your Following or Followers list, score every account against documented public signals, label Keep / Review / Cut, then export a CSV cut/block list — or optionally run paced one-click unfollow on Cut-labelled Following accounts only.

ClankerBlocker is a fake-follower and bot checker for X (Twitter). It scans your Following and Followers lists, scores every account against six documented signals, and exports a CSV cut/block list. Default workflow is audit and export; optional paced one-click unfollow is limited to Cut-labelled accounts on Following. It never blocks, mutes, or posts for you.

Why run a fake-follower audit?

Bot and low-quality accounts inflate follower counts, pad Following lists, and pollute recommendations. Independent estimates of bot share on the platform have varied widely (research vs. platform filings), which is why per-account evidence beats a single percentage. Step-by-step: X (Twitter) bot and fake-follower check

  1. Sign in with official X OAuth — ClankerBlocker uses X’s OAuth flow (not password sharing). Scans need list read access; optional unfollow needs follows.write.
  2. Pick a graph — audit Following (who you follow) or Followers (who follows you). Both share the monthly scan allowance.
  3. Run a scan — capacity is plan-capped (Free 300 accounts × 1 scan/mo; paid tiers raise the ladder). Hard account caps — no pay-per-extra-account beyond the cap.
  4. Read the evidence — six signals: follower/following ratio, age vs. volume, burst posting, aggressive following, bio signals, username patterns. Breakdown ships with each row (full signal list).
  5. Filter and label — structured filters + Keep / Review / Cut dispositions shared across both graphs.
  6. Export or optionally unfollow — download a CSV cut/block list anytime. Optional L2 one-click unfollow applies only to Cut labels on Following, paced for safety. ClankerBlocker never blocks, mutes, or posts for you.

How to remove bots from your X following

Answer: Run a Following audit, mark high-risk rows Cut, then either export the CSV and unfollow on X yourself or use optional paced one-click unfollow (Cut labels only). Review borderline scores first — heuristics are not proof. There is no mass remove-followers product; block/mute automation is intentionally out of scope.

What ClankerBlocker is (and is not)

Is: an evidence-grade fake follower & bot audit for your X lists — dual-graph scans, filters, labels, export, optional paced unfollow for Cut rows.
Is not: a bulk-remove suite, a mute/block automator, a substitute for X Premium, or an official X product. Not affiliated with X Corp.

Guide FAQ

What is a fake follower checker for X (Twitter)?

A fake follower checker audits accounts in your Followers and/or Following lists for bot-like and low-quality signals, then helps you decide what to keep, review, or cut. ClankerBlocker does this with six documented signals and evidence shown per account.

How do I check for bots in my X following?

Connect X with OAuth, run a Following (or Followers) scan, sort and filter by score and flags, then label Keep/Review/Cut. Export a cut list or optionally run paced one-click unfollow on Cut labels for Following only.

Is ClankerBlocker free?

Yes — Free includes one scan per month of up to 300 accounts with scores, filters, labels, and CSV export. Paid tiers raise the account cap and included scans; extra full scans are opt-in only.

Does a bot score prove an account is fake?

No. Scores are heuristic estimates from public signals. Review the evidence on each row before you unfollow or block. A high score means the account tripped multiple risk checks, not a legal determination.

How do I remove bots from my X (Twitter) following?

After a Following scan, label bot-like accounts Cut, export the CSV cut list, and unfollow on X yourself — or run optional paced one-click unfollow on Cut labels only. There is no bulk remove-followers tool; ClankerBlocker never blocks or mutes for you.
